We have a quiz tomorrow before we start reviewing for the test! We have now covered all material, and this quiz is to not only help them see their strengths but also show them the types of questions they can expect. We will have two review days in class to make sure they are beyond prepared for the test on Wednesday. All of us are updating our gradebooks, we appreciate your patience with this. Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions or concerns. We are here to help prepare them not only to master this content but to be ready for high school.
I know there has been some mixed messages and confusion with scheduling due to teachers not showing. However, Ms. Cox and myself are here to prepare all students and offer tutoring EVERY morning to those who are struggling. Please stop by and get some help if you are confused. If you can only stay after school, please come by and make arrangements with us and your parents to pick you up. Once we get a new teacher to fill that final position you will be updated. As of now, Ms. Gant has been preparing them with material and resources to help them master the content. She has been amazing and willing not only to stay after with them for tutoring. Please know we are all here as a team to help each of you to do your best. Here at Floyd we perform with excellence, all of us as a team! So lets get prepared and check resources for updates! This week is full of excitement as we welcome the newest member to our team: Mrs. Harper! There will be some schedule changes now because we are going to even out classes, this way we can really focus on smaller classes. With this, all of us will be able to take more time to work with each student. I know you have just gotten into the groove of everything, but this change will be well worth it. Grades might be a little scattered during this transition, so please understand we are doing everything in our power to update it. IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Wednesday is early release, Thursday is a quiz, and Friday we are reviewing for a test! Monday is a holiday so please study for this test! Then on Tuesday we are doing one more review and the test on Wednesday! I will send out reminds and please check back for more information as the week progresses. If you need anything please let us know. Study hall in EVERY morning with Mrs. Holder and Ms. Cox! Hope you had a great weekend and we look forward to seeing all of you tomorrow!
*To all the parents/students who brought in material for the mixture lab, THANK YOU! It gets pricey to do some of the fun activities and we truly appreciate all the support you gave us to make that a fun lab experience! (Even if it did get messy!) Good Evening Everyone! We wanted to update you on some information. We are having a lab day on Friday, and if you would like to donate some materials to the classroom that would be ideal. We are doing a mixture lab, and wanted to end the lab with a make your own mixture. If you could bring in a trail mix item (no nuts because of some student allergies) that would be a great help. Some ideas include: goldfish, pretzels, mini marshmallows, mini chocolate candies, dried fruits, cereals like chex, etc. Also, mini snack bags or mini cups would be helpful too. We appreciate your support in making this lab more hands on for them!
What is coming up?! We are having a quiz next Thursday (8/29) and then on that Friday we are reviewing for our first test. Over the break, have them looking over the material we have learned in the class thus far. We will be having one more review day on 9/3 when we return. That way we can test them on 9/4. We also will have our new member be joining our team on Monday! We are always available for tutoring before school, so stop on by for help. If you need help in the afternoons please email the teacher to make arrangements. We are here to support and help! Hey Science Kiddos! We will be taking the SGM's tomorrow since everything is now working! For the students that do not have either Ms. Cox or Mrs. Holder, you will be testing at a later date, and we appreciate your patience. However, it is crucial that everyone is understanding the material we are covering in class because we have our first quiz next week! Please come in the mornings or afternoons for extra support, even if you are not in our class! Here are the tutoring hours for next week to help prepare for the quiz coming up mid week!
Monday- Mrs. Holder's room at 8:05 am & after school until 5:15 pm Tuesday - Ms. Cox's room at 8:00 am & after school until 5:15 pm Wednesday - Mrs. Holder's room at 8:05 am If you cannot make it, please look in the resource section for videos explaining the material. I will post more information and more resources as the week goes on to further support you. Please let either Ms. Cox or myself know if you are struggling with any of these aspects. We will see you tomorrow! |
